It is the most successful Mahabharata series ever produced for television. The title song is followed by a narration by Indian voice-artist Harish Bhimani as a personification of Time, detailing the current circumstances and highlighting the spiritual significance of the content of the episode. The title song was sung and the verses rendered by singer Mahendra Kapoor. Meanwhile, in Hastinapur, Dhritarashtra slams the Pandavas for deceiving guru Dronacharya. Later, after seeing Arjun fuming with rage, Draupadi reminds him that the same guru remained tight-lipped when she was abused in front of him. And Dhrishtadyumna makes the most of the opportunity to kill Dronacharya, as he sits with his eyes closed to mourn the loss of his son.īut Arjun opposes Dhristadyumna's action, and he decides to avenge him for killing his defenceless guru. ![]() After learning about Ashwatthama's death, the guru sacrifices his weapons. And the latter, hesitantly, tells that Ashwatthama is dead. To know whether or not Bhim is telling the truth, the guru proceeds towards Yudhisthir. Thus, to execute Shri Krishna's plan, Bhim kills the elephant named Ashwatthama, to deceive Guru Dronacharya, who has a son named Ashwatthama. Subsequently, Shri Krishna sees an elephant marching towards them. Thus, he asks them to accept all that comes their way. And the one who consumed the poison was Shiva. After seeing him come forward, Shri Krishna reminds everyone that during samudra manthan, apart from the divine elixir, even halala appeared. Surprisingly, Yudhishthir, who is also known as Dharmaraj, agrees to cooperate with Shri Krishna. Therefore, he tells Arjun to do what the situation demands, and not refrain from killing those, who are siding with Adharma. But Shri Krishna reminds him that he must do his Dharma, to save Dharma, and not anticipate the result. However, Arjun refuses to opt for the path of falsehood to become triumphant. Therefore, he hatches a plan to deceive him. Shri Krishna realises that none of the five Pandavas can kill Guru Dronacharya. Nonetheless, when he comes across the King of Virat followed by Dhrupad, he kills both of them. But the guru decides to go ahead with his plan. The two deities remind Dronacharya that he is on the side of Adharma (Duryodhana) and therefore, the divine weapons must not be put into use. Therefore, Indra Dev appears before him and so does Brahma, the creator of the Universe, to stop Dronacharya from using it. Meanwhile, on the battlefield, Dronacharya decides to use the Brahmastra, ideally not meant for use unless there is an emergency. Thus, Dhritarashtra expresses displeasure about the fact that Karna should have ensured that he helps Duryodhana in winning the battle. He knows that only a Divyastra can kill Arjun, and therefore, Karna must have reserved it for him alone. In the latest episode of BR Chopra's Mahabharat, Dhritarashtra doesn't feel sorry for the loss of Ghatotkacha but wonders why Karna used the Divyastra to kill him.
